Ms. Kelsey grew up participating in international summer camps, so it’s no surprise that she loves working with youth and being a part of communities around the world. She earned her first degree in English, cultivating a passion for reading and writing, and returned to school for two Master’s degrees in education. After leaving the United States, Kelsey lived the last decade in Costa Rica and is so excited to have a new home base in Thailand. She’s taught all ages from preschool to college and a wide range of modalities from traditional to alternative, but these days, Kelsey most enjoys teaching high school ELA courses. She believes in promoting 21st-century skills, leadership, and cultural responsiveness in her students, weaving these pillars into her course curriculum and any other opportunities she gets. As a fantasy reader, Kelsey also believes the same pillars play a prominent role in her favorite stories.
